Industrial wastewater treatment technology explanation
Wastewater from factories follows the sewer system to the collection pit, before entering the collection pit, the wastewater flows through a trash rack to remove large trash. Then, the wastewater is pumped through a fine screen to remove smaller solids.
After passing through the screen, the water will flow into the equalization tank. Here, the water flow and quality will be stabilized thanks to the aeration process. Then, the wastewater is pumped to the coagulation - flocculation and physical sedimentation tank. After the sedimentation process in the physical and chemical sedimentation tank, the wastewater overflows the tank to the anoxic tank. Here, the wastewater is mixed with microorganisms (recirculating water and sludge), in an anaerobic environment, microorganisms will remove nitrogen compounds. Next, the wastewater flows through the AFBR biological tank. Here, the mixture of water and sludge is supplied with oxygen, aerobic microorganisms will use organic matter for growth. Water from the aerotank flows through settling tank 2, then disinfects in the contact tank with NaOCl and is then pumped by a high-pressure pump through a pressure filter column to remove any remaining suspended solids in the wastewater. Finally, the wastewater is discharged to the receiving source.
Sludge from settling tank 1 and settling tank 2 is fed into an aerobic sludge digester to decompose the remaining organic matter (reduce sludge volume) and then through a belt filter to remove water (reduce sludge moisture) and discharge. Water from the sludge digester and sludge press returns to the equalization tank for reprocessing.
