The People's Committee of Dak Nong province has just issued a decision to administratively fine Green Farm Asia Limited Liability Company in village 8, Cu Knia commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong VND 427.5 million for a number of violations in environmental protection.
According to the penalty decision, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee decided to impose a fine of VND170 million for the act of not fully implementing a content in the environmental impact assessment approved by the competent authority; and a fine of VND257.5 million for the act of discharging wastewater containing hazardous substances into the environment.
Previously, people reported to the authorities that the pig breeding farm of Green Farm Asia Limited Company caused environmental pollution, disrupting people's lives due to the stench and untreated wastewater discharged directly into the stream, affecting the water source.
Receiving feedback from the people, the Dak Nong provincial authorities conducted an inspection and determined that this company had a number of violations in environmental protection, such as not completing environmental protection works according to regulations; discharging wastewater into Ea Dier stream - upstream in Cu Knia commune and flowing through a number of communes in Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province.
Along with that, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee requested Green Farm Asia Company to immediately construct environmental treatment works in accordance with the environmental impact report, focus on immediately handling the pollution caused by the violation, force this unit to pay the cost of measuring and analyzing samples, and compensate for damages caused by the discharge into the environment.
